After getting stuck on a moving walkway at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport, a woman’s leg was severed from her body.
The unidentified passenger was on her way to her gate for a flight to the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat when she tripped and her leg was pulled into the walkway mechanism in the south corridor of Terminal 2 between gates 4 and 5.
On CCTV, the entire ordeal was captured. She appears to have had her leg pulled in to the knee at the end of the walkway, according to online clips.
She was brought to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital, where she had to have her leg amputated. Utilization of all air terminal travelators has been suspended while engineers research what occurred.
In a statement released today, the airport stated, “We deeply regret the distressing incident at Don Mueang Airport and are fully committed to providing care, covering medical expenses, and necessary compensation.”
